›› Abstract

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, IEEE 802.16) is expected to be a significant component in the next-generation wireless networks. This talk will briefly survey the distinct features, detailed mechanisms, and related applications of WiMAX. Furthermore, the comparisons between Wi-Fi, 3G and WiMAX will be presented.
